Castor or Curiosity Lure
Use Curiosity lure first. This will not enrage the beavers and their behavior might not be so eractic. If I"m trapping out the pond and have a beaver or two left, then I will switch to a Castor Lure.

| Tom, when making a drowning set for beaver, what size wire do you recommend? I have used 12ga or 14ga for coon but I realize a beaver is a much stronger animal in the water and I wasn't sure if I needed heavier gauge wire for these sets. Thanks for your help. |
| While using wire for Coon is okay, I strongly recommend that you use 3/32 cable. You can do this by cutting the length of cable that you need, then using a double ferrule at both ends, make a loop. |
